VoiceToNotes (VTN) is a productivity tool designed for effortless capture of thoughts and meeting minutes. The app prioritizes a "distraction-free" environment, allowing users to record, refine, and organize voice notes instantly. The goal was to create a reliable, fast, and intuitive interface that keeps the focus entirely on the user's ideas.
The Challenge :
The existing application faced several UX hurdles, including a lack of system feedback and "cluttered" interactions. Users often felt anxious about whether their recording was successful due to minimal progress markers. The challenge was to implement complex AI features like grammar correction and rephrasing without overwhelming the user or adding unnecessary steps to the flow.

Heuristic Analysis: Conducted a deep dive into the original UI, identifying critical weaknesses in "Visibility of System Status" and "User Control."
User Behavior Mapping: Analyzed how users multitask during meetings to prioritize hands-free capture and one-tap AI cleanup actions.
Information Architecture: Overhauled the navigation to move from a scattered "Existing IA" to a centralized, topic-based "New IA" for better retrieval and sharing.
The Solution:
The redesign introduces a high-feedback interface that ensures the user always knows the app's status.
Inline AI Actions: Integrated one-tap buttons for "Enhance," "Rephrase," and "Format" directly into the note view to reduce manual editing.
Visual Feedback: Added clear recording indicators and progress markers to eliminate user uncertainty during long transcriptions.
Streamlined Export: Designed a predictable save and search system with topic-based folders for a tidy personal archive.
