The Brief & Context :
Landeed is a leading platform for searching and verifying property records in India. Their "Vault" feature was originally designed as a digital locker to store scattered documents like sale deeds and tax receipts. The task was to redesign Vault for multi-property owners who value clarity and control over manual document management.
The Core Insight :
Traditional document storage is passive; it only works if the user takes action first. Research into the target persona affluent, multi-property owners in their 40s and 50s revealed a deep-seated anxiety about legal safety and document completeness. The insight: this user doesn't want a filing cabinet; they want a system that watches their properties and tells them exactly what to do.
UX Research & Strategy :
I reimagined Vault from "Where are my documents?" to "Is my property safe?".
Property Health System: Instead of simple lists, properties are now represented by a "Security Score" (e.g., 73%) that instantly communicates risks.
Active Intelligence: The system proactively identifies missing critical documents and guides the user toward a resolution.
Terra AI: A central interaction layer that allows users to resolve complex legal issues through voice or guided chat, reducing the need to navigate complex menus.
Key UX Decisions :
Action-Oriented Experience: No screen is passive; every state—whether a missing document or a risk alert—leads directly to a clear call-to-action like "Fetch" or "Resolve with Terra".
Progressive Disclosure: To avoid overwhelming non-tech-savvy users, information is layered: starting with a high-level status, moving to document details, and ending with specific actions.
AI-First Navigation: A persistent floating AI button ensures that help is always one tap away, reinforcing the "active assistant" mental model
UI Design System :
The visual language was built to feel premium, secure, and modern:
Dark Theme: Chosen to reduce visual clutter and allow high-priority alerts to stand out clearly.
Color Semantic System: Purple for AI actions, Green for verified/secure states, and Red/Orange for risks requiring immediate attention.
Card-Based Layout: Large, touch-friendly components designed for easy scanning by users who prefer simple, high-visibility interfaces.
Summary and Impact :
This redesign transforms Landeed Vault from a storage utility into a Property Intelligence System. By converting passive data into actionable insights and utilizing AI as a core interaction layer, the app now provides the clarity, control, and reassurance that multi-property owners actually need.
